Midnight Express

A chubby rat which got stuck in a manhole cover has been saved by seven firefighters in Bensheim, Hesse, Germany. The fire service was notified after the rotund rodent was spotted trapped in the cover’s drainage hole by a passing family. It reportedly took the firefighters just three minutes to rescue the rat, which safely escaped back down the sewer. Photos: Berufstierrettung Rhein Neckar.
