Artists of the world, unite!

Russian Chess Federation’s partner fund signed an agreement with Lord Montagu of Beaulieu. Art Russe and Lord Montagu of Beaulieu have signed an agreement to establish a permanent showcase of Russian art at Beaulieu, one of the leading tourist attractions in the UK. This gallery is just one of Art Russe’s projects aimed at increasing awareness of Russian and Soviet art. About 25 artworks from the Art Russe collection will be displayed at Beaulieu, initially in Palace House, which has been home to the Montagu family since 1538 and was formerly the Great Gatehouse of the 13th Century Beaulieu Abbey. Thematic exhibitions at this new permanent gallery of Russian art will be renewed each quarter. [Read more].

Art Russe founder Andrey Vasilievich Filatov said: “This agreement is an important milestone for Art Russe. The Russian Chess Federation Chess Museum was replenished with new exhibits The Timchenko Foundation donated to the Russian Chess Federation two paintings by Soviet artists. One is known as “Portrait of Paul Morphy” (1983-1986), and was painted by Yevgeny Yemelyanov.

The other one is known as “Chess. Portrait of Alexander Ivanov” (1983), and was painted by Alexandra Kharina.
