Meeting the world’s number 1 ranked female chess player at the World Mind Games 2014. Modesty comes easy to Hóu Yìfán. Before you say “Who Yìfán?” visit the FIDE world rankings page and check the women’s rankings. At just 20, Yìfán is the highest ranked female chess player in the world, who is playing currently. With Judit Polgár’s retirement, she will soon be the number one female player in the world, being just 2 points behind the Hungarian legend in the ratings at the time of writing this article.
