A plethora of chess superstars — including Alexander Igorevich Grischuk, Pyotr Veniaminovich Svidler, Boris Abramovich Gelfand, Ian Aleksandrovich Nepomniachtchi, Rustam M. Kasimdzhanov, and 13th Women’s World Chess Champion 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) — participated in the Eurasian Blitz Chess Cup of the President of Kazakhstan (in fact one of the strongest blitz tournament ever with $100,000 dollars’ prizefund) which was held from 17–19 June in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
