From next February 5–16, 2019 the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis will host for the first time in its history the Cairns Cup, an élite women’s chess super-tournament named after co-founder Jeanne Sinquefield (nee Cairns). The event boasts one of the richest prize fund in women’s chess history, with the not unfounded hope of actually involving the top ten female players in the world.
