Not only Aleksandra Yuryevna Goryachkina, but Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Lagno also will play the Superfinal of the 76th Russian “unisex” Chess Championship, scheduled in Saint Petersburg from September 30 to October 13, 2023, featuring, for the first time in Russian and Soviet chess history, the simultaneous participation of two women in what has almost always been, so far, a traditionally male-only contest (Goryachkina having been the only exception). No details have yet been given about the other participants.
