Victoire historique de 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán)! A l’exception de Judit Polgár, aucune joueuse n’avait gagné un tournoi aussi important. Elle a battu le bourreau de Vishy Anand par le score sans appel de 2-0. Sergey Fedorchuk a pourtant tout tenté pour égaliser, mais la force tactique de la chinoise a eu raison de son acharnement. 500 personnes, debout, ont longuement ovationné la championne du monde qui les a conquis par son talent et sa disponibilité. As she did yesterday, she began her quarterfinal match with Martyn Kravtsiv by losing with the white pieces. As yesterday, she won the rematch and then won the blitz playoff 2-0. In the semi-final round she unexpectedly played Robert Ruck, who had defeated second seed Ivan Saric 1½–½, winning the second game with the pieces. In the Hóu–Ruck match Hóu broke the pattern by winning the first game with White, but the overall pattern of needing to suffer continued intact. She lost the second game, and then lost the first blitz game to boot – both losses were with Black. She won the second blitz game, and then it was time for an Armageddon game. She had White and five minutes against Ruck’s four minutes and draw odds, and she came through with a good win. [Read more].

Finale 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) – Fedorchuk Le Tigre de Madras n’a pas suffisamment rugi. On pensait que rien ne pouvait l’empêcher d’atteindre la finale ajaccienne tant il a avait dominé ses adversaires lors des 1/8 et 1/4 de finale.

En 1/8 et en 1/4 elle s’était incliné avec les blancs et revenu au score avec les Noirs. Les départages en 3+2 lui avaient été favorables. Elle gagne en 1/4 de finale avec les blancs. On se dit, cette fois-ci pas de départage. Que nenni… Elle perd avec les noirs face au brillant Grand Maître Hongrois Robert Ruck. Et puis la dégringolade continue, elle perd le 1er départage et est en position perdante, une qualité de moins, dans la revanche. C’est fini... Non, la chinoise est pleine de ressource et d’idées. Elle arrache une inespérée victoire. C’est la mort subite. Robert Ruck gagne le tirage au sort. La chinoise est donc guignarde aussi? Le hongrois choisit les noirs avec 4 minutes face à des blancs qui auront 5 minutes mais l’obligation de gagner. Robert Ruck a ensuite confié les raisons de ce choix aux organisateurs “je suis un joueur solide avec les noirs, j’ai choisi cette voie pensons pouvoir tenir le choc”. Malheureusement il avait en face de lui le talent à l’état pur. Il suffit de regarder cette partie pour en être persuadé. La finale opposera donc le Grand Maître Ukrainien [Sergey Fedorchuk] à la championne du monde ce mecredi à 14h dans le superbe cadre du palais des Congrès dAjaccio.
