Diving Queen 吴敏霞 (Wú Mǐnxiá), together with other Olympic stars, will appear at the CCTV New Year’s Gala, also known as the 春节联欢晚会 (Spring Festival Gala), the Chinese New Year special produced by China Central Television. Shown on the eve of Chinese New Year – which will fall on Saturday, January 28, 2017 – on its flagship CCTV-1, satellite channels CCTV-4, CCTV News, CCTV-Español, and CCTV-Français, the broadcast has a yearly viewership of over 700 million viewers, making it one of the premier television events of China.
