The Importance of Not Being Arcovazzi

The head coach of the Chinese women’s team Grandmaster 余少腾 (Yú Shǎoténg) is understandably happy with the extraordinary win of 谭中怡 (Tán Zhōngyí) in the Knockout Women’s World Chess Championship Tournament. It is not the first time that he succeeded in such a long march, as he also trained 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) at the time when she won the crown. As for today, he highly praised the strength and the temperamental balance shown by his pupil, but, at the same time, he may well be satisfied with the overall result of the Chinese expedition: “China women’s team got three players into the top eight. A new teenager, 倪诗群 (Ní Shīqún), entered into the top eight. But everyone in the team did her own best to play at her best”, he told 陈金铎 (Chén Jīnduó) of sports.sina.com.cn.
