Horizontal lines under the rim

The mayor of Trenzano, a tiny town in the province of Brescia with about 5,000 inhabitants, was denounced by Brescia’s prefect as an apologist for fascism after posting on his social media accounts delusional proclamations supporting fascist policies. A few hours earlier in Serle, an even smaller comune in the province of Brescia, 36 migrants and refugees housed in a humanitarian detention centre have been urgently transferred to a safer place, after the authorities found out that the management of the centre subjected them to needless ill-treatment, privation and abuse.
The crisis (both moral and cultural) striking northern Italy would appear to be really harsh, and it probably started several years ago.
