A Jolly Time at Gaiety Theatre

16th World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen announced just a couple of days ago that he’ll take part in the 4th Isle of Man International Chess Tournament, to be held in Douglas, Isle of Man from September 23 to October 1, 2017. It will be thus a very crowded tournament, with an unusually high prize fund: £133,000. The juxtaposition with the 7th Chess World Cup’s Final in Tbilisi (September 23-27) has been solved by most participants – and by Carlsen in particular – with due sense of timing.
