The Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) announced that the 2017 World Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships – renamed for the occasion as “King Salman World Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships” will be held in ar-Riyāḍ (Riyadh), Saudi Arabia from 26 to 30 December 2017, with an overall prize fund of $2 million dollars.
Furthermore, FIDE published on its web site the list of players who will be offered free accommodation in ar-Riyāḍ (Riyadh) as well as travel expenses refund. |
