On the afternoon of November 20, 2017 a press conference was held at 北京电视台 (Běijīng Media Network) to announce the nominations for 2017’s “China’s Top Ten Laureus World Sports Awards”. The five challengers to the Best non-Olympic Athlete Award are: 1) 柯洁 (Kē Jié) (go player); 2) 谭中怡 (Tán Zhōngyí) (chess player); 3) 丁俊晖 (Dīng Jùnhuī) (snooker player); 4) 林荷琴 (Lín Héqín) (mixed martial artists); 5) 陈思明 (Chén Sīmíng) (pool player).
