The Egyptian Chess Federation has made a plea to the top Chinese Grandmaster to take part in a new international tournament scheduled to be held in February 2018 at the Red Sea holiday resort city of Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. “We will hold the first version of Sharm El Sheikh international chess competition on February 16-27, 2018, with total rewards up to 30,000 U.S. dollars”, Egyptian Chess Federation President Hesham El-Gendy told 新华社 (Xīnhuá News Agency) in an interview at Cairo, Egypt. “We would like to invite Chinese chess Grandmasters to join the competition and we will cover the flight tickets and accomodation for them”, he added.
