The 11th ROMGAZ Kings Tournament in memoriam of Elisabeta Polihroniade will take place in Mediaș, Romania from 24 to 28 November 2017, and will feature two round-robin quadrangular tournaments. In the men’s tournament it is announced the participation of Sergey Alexandrovich Karjakin, Vassily Mykhaylovych Ivanchuk, 韦奕 (Wéi Yì), plus one who will be named by the Romanian Chess Federation. Instead, Anna Muzychuk, Pia Cramling, Elisabeth Pähtz, plus one who will be named the by Romanian Chess Federation, will take part in the women’s tournament.
12th World Chess Champion Anatoly Yevgenyevich Karpov will attend the opening ceremony on November 24. |
