22. Rxg7+? Throwing away the win. White first ought to play 22. dxc6 rolling out the red carpet on the d-file. 22. ... Rxg7 23. Rg1?? And now 23. Bxg7 was a must, with still enough to secure a draw at least. 23. ... Rg6!−+ 24. h5. Apparently there’s no escape for the Rook, but...


24. ... Qb6! A very cold shower indeed, just shadowed by the “dual” 24. ... Qd8! (25. hxg6 Qh4+−+). 25. hxg6? Oblivious to the sword of Damocles hanging over her head, but other moves also lose. 25. ... Nxe4++ 26. Kg2 Qf2+ 27. Kh1 Qh4+ 28. Kg2 Qg3+ 0 : 1. Mate follows: 29. Kf1 Qf2# or 29. Kh1 Qh3#.
