Singaporean businessman and philanthropist 李成智 (Lee Seng Tee) passed away peacefully in Singapore on July 29, 2022 at the age of 99. The Chinese chess community expressed their deep gratitude for his generosity as well as their deep condolences to his family. Since the early 90s and over the years, 李成智 (Lee Seng Tee) constantly funded the development of Chinese chess. On two occasions he made a special trip to 北京 (Běijīng) to visit the Chinese Chess Academy, in 1992 and 13 years later, on October 18, 2005, when he was welcomed by future superstars like 沈阳 (Shěn Yáng) and 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán).
