Indian Grandmaster Humpy Koneru’s father, Ashok Koneru, confirmed her daughter’s decision to not participate in the forthcoming Knockout Women’s World Chess Championship Tournament to be held in Tehran, Iran from 10 February to 5 March 2017. He, however, refused to disclose the reason behind Humpy’s unavailability.
