But beware the flowers of carnivorous plants

Since it seemed like nothing interesting was happening, with everyone only speaking the same platitudes in myriad ways, the Communist Party Secretary of 上海 (Shanghai) had a great idea. He wrote a song overnight and presented it to his delegates the next day. So I cannot conclude this jolly tale better than in the (first) words of the ballad: 「我為您點贊,世界為您喝彩,天下歸心,想在一起,干在一起,滴水乾坤,文明之花共同栽,世界的舞台,中國的聲音…」 (“I praise you, / the world cheers for you, / all world’s hearts / wanna be together, / dry together, / drip from heaven to earth, / plant together flowers of civilization, / on the world stage, / with Chinese melodies...”).
