On the second day of his visit, in a solemn ceremony in New Delhi, FIDE President Arkady Vladimirovich Dvorkovich handed over the hosting rights to All India Chess Federation (AICF) for next summer’s 44th Chess Olympiad, which, for the first time in its almost 100-year history, will be held in India, coming back to Asia after 30 years. At both the signing ceremony and the combined press conference, in which Dvorkovich officially confirmed that he will run for reelection to FIDE Presidency, the auspicious presence of five-time World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand did not go unnoticed.
