Coincidentally, even today, the long-awaited last classical game of the World Chess Championship 2023 ended in a draw, so a tie-breaker is needed to make the final decision. The day of judgment will be tomorrow (Sunday), for the sake of the lovers of fast time controls. Some noted the paradox of having plenty of rest days in between the fourteen classical games and no rest day before the tie-breaker, but maybe it is an intentional paradox. Perhaps today was the day (off). As for tomorrow, it doesn’t make much sense to make predictions based on statistics alone. The match has came down to its last few minutes, and it will be about nerves now. Photo: Stev Bonhage/FIDE. |
