Austrian-Jewish Hollywood star Hedy Lamarr (pictured above as Delilah in the Cecil B. DeMille’s 1949 biblical blockbuster) is best remembered for her beauty (both Snow White and Catwoman were based on her iconic image), turbulent personal life and hot roles. But was her biggest role as the inventor of frequency hopping during the war that slipped under the radar. Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story, produced by Susan Sarandon and narrated by Diane Kruger, pays homage to the star whose brilliant mind rivaled her looks, and opened up the way for contemporary communications methods, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
