Heart Matters

After the unlikely data points provided by Polar’s sophisticated heart rate monitors on first day (Magnus Carlsen was virtually given as dead!), apparently yesterday’s results would confirm that Hikaru Nakamura’s heart rate is constantly about 20-30 higher than Carlsen’s, who, on the other hand, would be performing below average heart rate values – provided, of course, Polar’s tracking is reliable. Nothing comparable, however, to Italy’s legendary bicycle-racing champ Fausto Coppi (30 to 40 beats per minute).
